President Beji Caid Essebsi and Bahrain’s Prime Minister Emir Khalifa Ben Salman Al Khalifa agreed on Thursday 27 January 2016 to relaunch the Tunis harbour mega-project.
The project which is funded by the Gulf Financial House, costs about USD 3.5 billions (about 7 billion Tunisian dinars). Once achieved, the project is estimated to create 16,000 jobs.
The Tunisian financial harbour, a project integrated in the zone of El Hsayene in the governorate of Ariana, includes a financial and banking centre, a technopole, a congress centre and a free-trade zone for enterprises specialised in financial, insurance and accounting services and softwares. The project also involves a university of finance, an urban area, two 5-star hotels, a marina and a golf field.
